Altar Records evolved from the sounds, sights and vibes of the misty Northern mountain ranges of Canada. Founder DJ Zen (aka Astral Waves) launched the label in 2008 in Quebec, Canada, where he has lived and produced since the 1990s.
Altar Records presents gorgeous ambient sounds in limited-edition releases. With respected contributors from across North America & Europe including Androcell, Aes Dana, & Asura, Altar Records made a huge impact on the chill-out scene in 2009 with the release of a trinity of precious compilations: Air, Water & Fire. The Altar Records family includes instrumentalists, producers & DJs from North America and Europe, all of whom share a dedication to developing & sharing ephemeral atmospheres and beautiful soundscapes.
6362MetaForce joined forces with Altar Records in Summer 2009 on the green grounds of Eclipse Festival, Canada. Since then, 6362MetaForce’s SuKhush - featuring live flute over electronica sets – has become one of the Altar Records family ambassadors.

Altar Records presents its fourth compilation under the theme of the element :EARTH:.
A year after the release of "Air", Dj Zen compiles “Earth” with the collaboration of Iz Marceau, therefore adding femininity and gentleness over the most magical of the Elements releases.
This 4th release colourfully vibrates of deep and melodic sounds, and I thank every artist on this compilation for having created music which specifically celebrates Mother Earth, Gaia, Pacha Mama...whatever you may call her!
