DARK ELF aka Dimitri played the trumpet as a child, leaving it behind in his teens to become a hip-hop devotee. Goa trance found Dimitri in 1997, converting him to a new genre and pushing him to explore new electronic sounds. In 2000, he bought his mixing tools and began DJ’ing in local parties. A year later, under the influence of In Vitro, Dimitri moved into production, and by 2004, he was creating his own sounds in the deeper and more intense layers of psy atmospheres. When his friend Wris lent him a Roland JP-8000 in 2005, the Dark Elf project fell into place.

Half-French and half-Greek, Dimitri moved from Paris to Athens in 1993, and today Dark Elf is recognized as part of the “dark Greek wave” that has moved with killer force onto the international psy scene since 2005. Known for deep, tribal and atmospheric layers, Dark Elf has a unique identity in international psystomp with a constantly evolving sound.

Dimitri has collaborated with many other artists internationally to produce different flavours of psy, including DOUBLE TROUBLE (with Apnea), SEPTAGRAM (with DarkShire/Brain Core), and ROUGHRYDERS (with In Vitro); and he has created tracks with Zik, Narcosis, Furious, and others. Dimitri also DJs reggae and dub, and he has produced electro-dub tracks with The Dub Wizard.

Dark Elf is a Discovalley Records DJ/Artist, and he is a founder of the KGB crew (or Tribal Unity) – a group that organizes parties in Athens. Now studying sound engineering, DImitri/Dark Elf continues to discover new sounds and production techniques that influence and improve his work as a psy producer.
