Squee
Producer/DJ
Location: Portland, North America
Style: Psystomp/Dark

SQUEE is the psystomp production project of Greg Williams. A native of Southern California, he moved to Portland, Oregon, for the solace and lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest in 2001. Squee discovered psytrance through the Southern California rave scene and psy parties, but it was in Portland that his production and DJ’ing really took hold. As a result, he joined with new friends in that region to create the Synergy party collective, throwing trance and multi-genre parties in and around Portland.
Squee learned guitar for four years, moving into DJ’ing and electronic production in 1999. He started producing music on a Roland 505 groove box, moving up to PC packages and finally to the Mac-based Logic package in 2005. He uses Ableton live for performances.
Whether he works independently, or in collaboration with other artists, Squee pursues a harmony of intensity, tone, and psychedelic aural-storytelling in his music. Beautifully balanced between the technological and musical sides of production, Squee’s sound offers something for all nightpsy tastes.
Collaborations include Quantize Mechanics, with Jamey Larson (who is also half of the Portland-based Freaks of Nature); and Secret Society, with Kevin Coe, also of Portland. The collaboration was formed in 2006 with the intention of infusing humor into the psychedelic trance scene – because laughter is one of the most beautiful elements of human existence. Secret Society’s sound remains intense and psychedelic, but with a tinge of sarcasm and will have more releases in 2008.
SQUEE’s first releases are featured on the WAV downloads section of the 6362MetaForce website. 6362MetaForce is pleased and proud to present this new artist to the international psy community, and we look forward to bringing you more of his Northwestern essence!
